P2P Downloads
Peer-To-Peer (P2P) applications allows users
to download files of any time. Some popular ones are Kazaa,
Morpheus, LimeWire, eDonkey, iMesh, Bear Share, Bit Comet,
Bit Torrent, and many more.
The majority of these applications are used
to download music and movie files. Most people seem to download
copyrighted songs and movies - something the Recording Industry
Association of America (RIAA) and the Motion Picture Association
of America (MPAA) are both cracking down on.
Not including the lawsuits brought on by
the MPAA, nearly 20,000 people have been sued by the RIAA
through 2007, and according to the RIAA, the cost of settling
each suit has been approximately $3,000. They mean serious
business and are not taking this lightly. Why put yourself
at risk?
Most of these lawsuits come from children
or other people using your PC to download these types of files.
With PC Pandora's P2P guard, you'll know
what files have been downloaded, and you can even block access
to these programs on your PC so that only you can use them.
